Script Pipeline Internship Program

Interested in development? The business side of film? Looking to one day land an ultra-coveted, super-tough-to-find, yet lower-paid script reading job at a studio or production company (hey, it's worth it), yet don't have the experience? Why, this is the internship for you. . . .
Whether you wish to broaden your knowledge of the entertainment industry as a whole, or simply seek an internship that's well beyond making copies and getting staplers thrown at you by angry managers (true story), Script Pipeline could be an excellent fit. Best of all, not only is the internship flexible around your schedule, but in most cases, we'll tailor the internship to areas YOU are interested in.
General duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting the General Manager and any coordinators with office administration.
- Helping with annual contest and Writers Workshop organization and administration (interns may not read contest or Workshop scripts, however, due to privacy concerns and company regulation)
- Performing research on new/emerging production companies, as well as current events or trends in entertainment and film/TV production.
- Supporting
business-related efforts (yes, that's broad, but it really varies),
and, if qualified, developing new and innovative strategies to
implement various international marketing campaigns.
- Website development, reviewing ad copy, and aiding in the creation of new resources for our worldwide base of writers and execs.
- Script
reading and writing coverage on "sample" scripts (non-contest or
Workshop material) and working with a Script Pipeline reader to hone
the craft of analysis and writer consultation.
. . . and a million other opportunities to expand your industry knowledge.
Does
this mean our interns never have to do any grunt work? Well, no, because
it's an internship--almost all of us have had to make the occasional
run across town to drop off scripts or pick up lunch. However, the
Script Pipeline staff is looking to offer as much training and
education as our interns can handle--without the unnecessary high-stress environment at the typical agency or studio.
To apply, email us with:
--Cover letter explaining why you would be awesome for this internship
--Resume
--Sample coverage (if applicable)
--What your ultimate goal is in the film industry and/or what you hope to gain from this internship
*Please note that the Script Pipeline Internship Program runs approximately 3 months and is UNPAID to start. That said, many of our interns have gone to find full-time work with other high-profile companies, or have been hired by Script Pipeline as an assistant or freelance reader.
Requirements:
--Must
have somewhat of a film production or development background (e.g. film
student, previous internships in the industry, etc.), or have an extremely strong interest in the entertainment field
--Excellent
phone and communication skills
--Strong
familiarity with internet research
--MUST
be reliable and dedicated to each task given; please be prepared to work hard
